One of the 3 Giuseppes… the Good/Bad/Ugly; you decide

Here is at least one of the 1000 Giuseppe Stories...

There are countless stories with Giuseppe!   Drink nights at I Nonni, my house his house…. Karen’s house on the famous San Giuseppe’s celebrations and of course… The Butcher Block.

I don’t have a lot of pictures, maybe that’s intentional!  I do have great memories. One in particular comes to mind.  This was a Ferragosto celebration (notice how the word Celebration keeps popping up right around the word Giuseppe).   We decided to have a Bocce Ball tournament.  I’m unsure now if this was the one at the Hastings Vineyard or at the 3M Club.

Everything was going as expected.  In other words… we were doing poorly and as we tried to figure out what part of our technique should we modify… the strength, the curve, the height… finally he came up with a hypothesis….  Maybe if we put our wine glasses down and be less concerned about not spilling the wine and more focused on where the ball was headed… things could improve.

Great theory… but a little too late.  By then… it didn’t really matter if we held a glass of wine or not… the general picture was all blurry anyhow.

Much later we ended up in an italian restaurant where we ordered “bruschetta”.  Red wine intake makes us want to really enunciate our Italian words.  It’s directly proportional.

Well… the waitress in this Italian restaurant corrected us… “ oh no sir it’s not bruschetta… its pronounced… brousheta ”

  1. Giuseppe, (the good or the bad depending on the day. We’ll leave the ugly to whatever third Giuseppe joins us), Thanks for these stories. You wisely kept to the tamer ones. We do have fun. I miss having you around. We’ll put together the Colombia trip soon.
