    Thank you everyone, and especially Karen. I’m not the best when it comes to thanking people for gifts. I started the day seeing more texts than usual and turned to Karen and said “ you didn’t send out something telling everyone to send me a message for my birthday, did you?” She said something to the effect of shut up and open my birthday card that directed me to this site. I appreciate how much work went into this and my initial response was based on how I usually feel when getting requests to contribute to things like this. It can be a pain and I greatly appreciate all of you taking the time to do this. It was a joy reading these and hearing from some friends that I haven’t heard from in years. And, I had a lot of laughs reading these. I am truly blessed to have such fantastic family and friends. Words can’t begin to express my appreciation and love. Joe

One of the 3 Giuseppes… the Good/Bad/Ugly; you decide

H ere is at least one of the 1000 Giuseppe Stories... There are countless stories with Giuseppe!   Drink nights at I Nonni, my house his house…. Karen’s house on the famous San Giuseppe’s celebrations and of course… The Butcher Block.    I don’t have a lot of pictures, maybe that’s intentional!  I do have great memories. One in particular comes to mind.  This was a Ferragosto celebration (notice how the word Celebration keeps popping up right around the word Giuseppe).   We decided to have a Bocce Ball tournament.  I’m unsure now if this was the one at the Hastings Vineyard or at the 3M Club.    Everything was going as expected.  In other words… we were doing poorly and as we tried to figure out what part of our technique should we modify… the strength, the curve, the height… finally he came up with a hypothesis….  Maybe if we put our wine glasses down and be less concerned about not spil...
